Backcountry Skiing in Pirin Mountains
It was a great season for backcountry skiing in Bulgaria this year. A lot of snow, much more than for the last winter seasons, and generally cold weather, without serious heat waves. All the photos in this post are taken in Pirin Mountains which are located in the south west parts of Bulgaria. Although not the highest, these mountains are considered as the most “serious” terrain in the country because of their steep rocky slopes. They are also famous with the most number of sunny days per year among the mountains of Bulgaria.
